- to facilitate communications between national and
international bodies responsible for the recording and protection
of the archaeological heritage
- to assist countries at an early stage in
developing archaeological record systems
- to facilitate research utilizing
archaeological site data

- more than 100 questionnaires sent out in English,
French and Spanish
